During this Certificate Class, workers will learn their responsibilities as a Competent Person:
This 4-hour class covers the recognition of fall hazards and the methods of fall prevention including the use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring, and controlled access zones. Also covered is the use of ladders and scaffold fall protection requirements.
This course covers the identification, evaluation, prevention and control of fall hazards in the construction industry. The course focuses on falls to a lower level rather than falls to the same level resulting from slips and falls. Course topics include identifying, analyzing, and preventing fall hazards utilizing OSHA Fall Protection Standards. At the conclusion of the course, students will have an awareness level of identifying fall hazards and methods to control and abate the hazards. 0.5 Continuing Education Unit.
