Contact us today! or Call 815-630-2717 The LWSC provides the required Fork Lift Operators Certificate under OSHA standards for workers at their place of employment in conjunction with their employers. This class is designed to provide safety training for Forklift Operators. This is not basic Forklift training which should be provided by the employer. Operators are expected to know how to operate the equipment. The LWSC conducts the: Formal instruction (Classroom Training) and the Practical Training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), but the LWSC cannot conduct the evaluation of the operator’s performance in the workplace (this must be done over a period of time by the employer under supervision of persons who have the knowledge, training, and experience to train powered industrial truck operators and evaluate their competence). Forklift related employee injuries can be a result of insufficient or inadequate training. There are many types of powered industrial trucks. Determining the best way to protect workers from injury largely depends on the type of truck operated and the worksite where it is being used. Employers must ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in 29 CFR 1910.178. Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace. Training is conducted on-site with employer provided forklift.
