Gilberto Saucedo Jr.

With the LWSC:

Gilberto brings over 30 years of safety management, training and development, and business management. He joined the LWSC in 2018 as an OSHA Outreach Trainer and is now serving as the Executive Director for the LWSC.

He is responsible for creating and implementing effective safety training curriculum and new programs aimed at developing those individuals responsible for overseeing the safety programs in their respective working environments.

Always keeping “Safety” as the number one priority for not only Latino Workers, but for all workers, both woman and men alike from all cultural backgrounds and demographics. The “Mission” of the LWSC is to provide quality training and development in “Workplace Safety” to as many workers as possible, in a continuous effort to prevent and mitigate workplace injuries and fatalities caused by a lack of job hazard awareness and preventive measures implementation.

Education and Certifications:

Gilberto holds a double master’s degree from Morris Graduate School of Management in Business and Human Resource. He holds various safety certifications from NIU’s National Safety Education Center in Public Safety and Health. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a certified Spanish Linguist.

Experience:

Gilberto spent 14 years in the Army serving in various capacities. He was an Airborne Ranger conducting special operations in various environments. He served as a Drill Sargent, during which time he was also selected to implement the Army’s ESL Program to ensure that new recruits could fully understand the training being provided to them in an effective manner.

He also served as the Course Manager for a Multinational Special Operations Instructional Team composed of Army Rangers and Special Forces personnel; conducting specialized training on special tactics, techniques, and procedures with emphasis on Ranger Operations, in support of Light Infantry, counter insurgency and counterdrug operations.

Gilberto has 18 years of management experience in various types of operations from Warehousing & Distributions, 3PL’s, and Production. Overseeing total operations with full P&L responsibility of multimillion-dollar operational budgets. He focused on operational excellence and organizational goals, reducing costs without affecting quality products and services.

He implemented and managed OSHA compliant Safety Programs with a focus on reducing worker incident and injury rates. He was directly responsible for developing safety training programs and training the trainer programs to develop front line supervisors and managers on facilitating training, incident investigations, root cause corrective action analysis, and OSHA compliance.
