Fall Prevention Methods - 8 Hour Training

The Fall Protection for the Competent Person course is designed to meet OSHA Competent Person requirements for fall protection per the 29CFR1926 Subparts M, L and X: Fall hazard identification, how to select the proper protective system, and importance of pre-planning for fall protection. The nature of fall hazards in the work area, the correct procedures for erecting, maintaining, disassembling, and inspecting the fall protection systems to be used, the use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring systems, controlled access zones, and other protection to be used, the role of each employee in the safety monitoring system when this system is used, the correct procedures for the handling and storage of equipment and materials and the erection of overhead protection. Participants will collaborate in workshops demonstrating the inspection and use of fall protection equipment and developing a fall protection program. Attendees will take a written exam and upon passing the course will be issued a course completion card from the LWSC that is valid for 3 years.
