CPR, AED, First Aid - English, Spanish

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants.

Fall Protection Training - English, Spanish, Polish

Fall Protection Hazard Awareness : This 4 hour training covers the recognition of fall hazards and the methods of fall prevention including the use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring, and controlled access zones.

Flagger Certification ATSSA / Work Zone Hazard Awareness - English, Spanish

ATSSA Authorized Instructor led training. Persons performing the duties of a flagger are required to be trained and properly equipped to perform their jobs per the most recent addition of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Certification is recognized by the Department of Transportation. This 4-hour course is designed to satisfy Federal, State and Local flagger certification requirements.

Chicago Scaffold Card - English, Spanish

This is an 8 hour user/erector Scaffold Training.

Chicago Scaffold Work Requirements:
When is a scaffolding permit required in the City of Chicago?
A scaffolding permit is required when scaffolding is being used in a building in the City of Chicago that is either (1) located anywhere within the central business district*, and is over forty (40) feet above grade or (2) any building over eighty (80) feet above grade.

Confined Space Safety Training - English, Spanish

This is a complete 8 hour hands on certificate training in confined spaces such as tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, pits, manholes, tunnels, equipment housings, ductwork, pipelines, etc. Confined Space or Permit Required Confined Space training and requirements per 29CFR1920.146 (Construction) and 29CFR1926.1200 (General Industry).

Electrical Safety Training - English, Spanish

This 4 hour hazard awareness training will provide participants with an overview of OSHA regulations per CFR1926.400 / Subpart K  and help workers understand electrical safety requirements and how to protect themselves from electrocutions. Safety requirements include installation safety requirements, safety-related work practices, safety-related maintenance and environmental considerations, and safety requirements for special equipment.

 

 

Fall Protection for the Competent Person – English, Spanish, Polish

The Fall Protection for the Competent Person course lasts 8 hours and is designed to meet OSHA Competent Person requirements for fall protection per the 29CFR1926 Subparts M, L and X: Fall hazard identification, how to select the proper protective system, and importance of pre-planning for fall protection.

FREE - Excavation Safety Training - English, Spanish

This 4 hour OSHA Compliant Excavation Hazard Awareness Training addresses information on safety requirements, concerns and precautions when working in and around any man-made cut, cavity, trench, or depression in an earth surface, formed by earth removal.

Participants will learn to conduct inspections and classify soil  through both visual and manual testing. Sloping, Benching and Shoring techniques for each type of soil classification will be examined.

 

FREE - Silica Hazard Awareness - English, Spanish

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued a final rule to curb lung cancer, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney disease in America's workers by limiting their exposure to respirable crystalline silica. The rule is comprised of two standards, one for Construction and one for General Industry and Maritime. OSHA estimates that the rule will save over 600 lives and prevent more than 900 new cases of silicosis each year, once its effects are fully realized.

Workers must be trained in a language they understand. The Latino Worker Safety Center is a not for profit, multilingual training center providing training throughout Region V. Classroom is located at the Minnesota Safety Council location - 474 Concordia Ave St Paul, MN 55103-2430 These are OSHA compliant Hazard Awareness Certificate trainings - at no cost to workers or contractors with fewer than 250 workers. • Excavation Safety: Anyone entering an excavation must be trained in excavation safety. This is a four-hour class that includes class materials, book and certificate.

OSHA 10 Hour Construction Course - Spanish, English

Join us for this training presented by OSHA Authorized, Bilingual, Safety Professionals

This training program is intended to provide entry level construction workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a construction site. The training covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter at a construction site.

Scaffold Safety Training - English, Spanish

All Workers, Supervison, Management, Engineers must be trained before using a Scaffold!

CHOICE OF 3 TRAINING COURSES:

  • 4 Hour Scaffold Hazard Awareness training is the minimum safety knowledge for scaffold workers.
  • 8 Hour Scaffold Safety Training for the Competent Person - a Competent Person is required when erecting or dismantling scaffold, and should inspect the scaffold before each workshift  work.
  • Chicago Scaffold Card - This ID Card is required when scaffolding is being used in a building in the City of Chicago that is either (1) located anywhere within the central business district*, and is over forty (40) feet above grade or (2) any building over eighty (80) feet above grade. The identification card shall include a photograph of the student’s face, and shall include the following information: the student’s name, the student’s building trade, the institution’s name, the date the course was completed, expiration date, and the type(s) of scaffolding that the student has been trained.

Spanish Fall Protection Training

The Fall Protection Hazard Awareness course is designed for the at-risk worker and conducted in Spanish by Latino Safety Professionals. This class will provide a basic understanding of the OSHA Standards for fall protection and the methods available to control fall hazards. Topics covered include Ladders, Scaffolds and Fall Prevention Systems. This is a good refresher course for the Competent Person and a must for anyone working in the environment where fall hazards exist. A completion card will be issued that is valid for 3 years.

Stairways and Ladders

In this course, participants will learn about the safety regulations regarding stairways and ladders per CFR1926 Subpart X

Participants will learn industry terms, types of ladders, inspections, safe practices and achieve an understanding of the rules and procedures of stairway and ladder usage in the construction industry.
